Mission 770 bookshelf speakers

The Mission 770 is one of the most iconic models in Mission's multi-year history, first launched in 1978 and quickly becoming Mission's biggest seller, followed by the Mk2 and MK3 revisions, the Freedom and other models. Now, the Mission 770 is back in action and 100% British production, and is about to return to its former glory.

The new Mission 770 retains its original design elements in appearance, with a white front baffle and a wide-faced cabinet that is unmistakably British. All units of the new Mission 770 have been redesigned, and the mid-bass cone is still made of PP material, but with a stronger texture, mineral coating, and a new magnetic circuit system, which can regenerate tighter and faster low frequencies, with sufficient volume and excellent extension. The Mission 770's low-frequency extension of up to 30 Hz (-6 dB) is more than enough to rival other speakers of its size.

The tweeter uses microfiber woven soft dome monoblocks, which are very light in weight and have a slight damping effect, and is paired with high flux ferrite magnets for a very smooth frequency response, and the resonance frequency is controlled below the crossover point for perfect articulation with the mid-bass.

While the early Mission 770s were influenced by the BBC and used thinner walls, the new Mission 770s use a sandwich-style composite cabinet with thick MDF walls and a special particle laminate with excellent damping, so that the resonance point of the walls is much lower than the audible frequency and the sound is naturally cleaner.

The new Mission 770 is not only designed in the UK, it is also billed as being manufactured in the U.K. Mission has a dedicated 9,000 square foot factory in Huntingdon, Cambridge, U.K. that allows for R&D as well as production manufacturing, assembly and finishing, including a newly built reverb-free room. All Mission 770s are imported from the UK and are guaranteed to be of the highest quality.
